Our Story

Hi I'm Lauren, founder of Olly Olly & co. Let me tell you a little about me and how I ended up starting a sustainable activewear brand! I’m Irish and moved to London to go to uni when I was 18. I learned to surf in Lahinch, Co. Clare when I was 12 and have always loved the ocean.

My “day job” is a paediatric radiographer which means I spend my days working in a children’s hospital undertaking lots of different types of scans such as CT’s, MRI’s, x-rays etc. So rewarding but was also a little crazy running a start up alongside working during a global pandemic!

I am OBSESSED with fitness classes, I have a crazy amount of energy and love how good working out makes you feel plus I love the communities and friendships that I’ve built over the years through sports and in various studios. I also think I’ve tried nearly every studio in London at this point with @classpassuk !

In 2016-2017 I took a sabbatical to travel around South America and work in Australia. I ended up working in a beach bar in a little surfer town in Peru. Every week we’d do a beach clean up and I was horrified by the amount of rubbish we’d pick up week in week out.

I’ve always been pretty eco conscious(I was the girl in work who always had a reusable water bottle/coffee mug/tupperware before it was the norm) but when I returned to London I was hyper aware of all the decisions I was making on a day to day basis and how it impacted our planet.

Struggling to find activewear that was premium quality, technical enough for the wide variety of classes I was doing while also made in an ethical way was proving difficult so I decided to create my own! By using fabric made from regenerated ocean waste and recyled plastic bottles I created a solution to my problem of the ocean waste I had seen from all my beach clean ups💔
